Frequently Asked Questions

It’s a website — so there’s no software to download — it all happens in the browser of your laptop, desktop, tablet, or phone. The videos play on most any device, but Season 1 includes touchable video simulations that may be too graphically intense (ha) to run well on some older devices.

Yes. OMGYES is for anybody who cares about women’s sexual pleasure and wants to explore it even more. Around half of our users are women and half men. Some people use it alone, some use it together with their partners.

OMGYES isn’t about the basics. Most of the techniques and ways to intensify pleasure that we’re presenting had literally never been researched before. You’ll explore new things to try, new perspectives on things you do already, and get more tools for your toolbox. In a study of 887 users of OMGYES, 95% said they experienced new kinds of pleasure that felt new to them, physically. That group included lots of people who consider themselves sex jedis. The truth is, we all have more to discover.

Any purchase on OMGYES is a one-time charge. There are no subscriptions, so no need to ever cancel anything. You make a one-time payment for a collection of OMGYES content and it’s yours forever to access as much as you want. And your contribution helps fund the next waves of research on sexual pleasure.

When you buy a Season of OMGYES, you’ll get permanent access to that Season’s content. But in order to access other Seasons, you’d have to purchase them separately. Kind of like how when you buy a book, you’re not also buying all future books from that author.

Some people have binged all of OMGYES in a weekend. But we recommend going through one topic per week, so you can really have time to explore and apply it all.

It’s great as together-time for a couple or for a group of friends — like watching a tv-show together and chatting about it after.

We listened to lots of OMGYES users to find the sweet spot of being in-depth but not too long —something fun you look forward to, not a task. It turns out shorter videos are better than long ones. So we try to keep each video to under 4 minutes.

It would be wonderful if public institutions would give grants for research about pleasure! Unfortunately they never have and won't. So we have to charge something to pay for the ongoing research, production, and the salaries of an amazing team who produces and maintains OMGYES. Each set of content is a one-time payment, similar to buying a book. You pay once for a book but you can read it anytime forever. And some of the money goes toward that author making more books. All of you who find OMGYES valuable and important are funding this ongoing research and production and we thank you!

Lots! One user wrote in and said that he learned all the things that worked best in bed from a really open partner who turned the lights on, showed him in detail what worked for her, and let him practice until it was really clear. OMGYES is kind of like that. So you get a practical, specific understanding of the wide range of what feels good and why.

For Seasons 1 & 2, our research centered around vulva/vagina touch and was conducted with women who have vulvas. We recognize that not all women have vulvas & not all vulvas belong to women. Looking forward, we plan to integrate more and more of the experiences of all people and all genders into our content. In fact, we are in the beginning phases of research at the moment. For now, our content is useful to (and used by!) those with vulvas or whose partners have vulvas.

Gosh, we really hope nobody died.

We’re not claiming to be experts — we believe that the collective wisdom of thousands is stronger than any one person's opinion.

We are, however, the first and only ones conducting large-scale, nationally representative scientific research about the specifics of touch and sexual pleasure. The techniques on the site come directly from this research with over 20,000 women.

Great question.

The taboo that makes people uncomfortable seeing women’s anatomy is the same one that has kept women’s pleasure so secret for so long. That’s the taboo we’re trying to get rid of. We think people are ready for an honest, clear-headed look at the details that make all the difference.

Subtle variations in pressure or angle or consistency actually feel really different. What one woman calls a ‘circular motion on the clit’ could actually hurt for another woman who also likes a ‘circular motion on the clit.’ You really do have to get up close and actually see what the variations are — and why they feel so different.

We also publish our research findings in academic journals, too. But research papers are pretty dry and this site is our way of making the findings practical, relatable and fun to explore for busy people. Our first batch of research was published in the Journal of Sex & Marital Therapy, and we have more scientific publications in the works.

Thanks. We think it’s cool, too. There is something you could do: help us spread the cause. Tell friends about OMGYES— post it, tweet it, email a link. Or, if you're a writer, write an honest, personal review of your experience with the site, either as a post on our facebook wall or as a blog post. Speaking openly about this topic is what helps spread the cause!

We are engineers, educators, researchers, and filmmakers who, frankly, wanted this information for ourselves. We couldn’t find it and decided it needed to exist. We left our other jobs and have had a wild ride ever since. Read more about us and why we made it.

Absolutely.

But people are different in most ways and yet there are still huge fields of study and research about all the other ways people work. We think that “everyone’s different” has been a way people have avoided a taboo topic.

One of the most interesting findings from our research study is that there are actually shared techniques and variations across the majority of women. And rather than being like recipes, the techniques are more like ingredients that you can combine in thousands of different ways as you make them your own.

This is the first-ever, large-scale research on the specific kinds of sexual touch that are pleasurable. It’s the first because we've figured out a way to fund it, and it's powered by people like you. Thank you!

The women on OMGYES are regular people, not actors, who thought this information was important and courageously put themselves out there to benefit others. Their professions include literature professor, farmer, librarian, nurse, musician, biologist, student, teacher, surgeon, and more. They range in age from 20’s to 70’s and are from countries around the world.

When we put out a call for participants to appear on the site we get thousands of applicants. Our production team chooses diverse, fun, relatable people who have personally had the breakthrough insights revealed by our research.

"OMG Yes" is a commonly used shortening of "Oh My God Yes!" in English. It's what someone says to exclaim pleasure and delight in and out of the bedroom.

Yes! You can switch the language you view OMGYES.com in with the language options in the bottom left corner of every page. Every video and simulation is captioned. You can turn captions on and off by clicking the ‘CC’ button, in the lower right corner of each video. We currently have the following languages available: English, Deutsch, Français, Español, Español (LA), Italiano, Português, Русский, Nederlands, 日本語, 한국어, 简体中文, and 繁體中文. If your language isn't displayed there yet, check back for more translations soon!

Whenever the text is presented as the voice of OMGYES, we use the term vulva when referring to external female genitalia. We made the decision, however, not to ask participants (women who appear in videos and whose responses appear in quoted text) to alter their everyday language. We wanted the interviews to be improvised by regular women talking frankly and openly, as they would to friends. We experimented with correcting participants, but those interviews came across as staged and we felt intrusive. So we allowed the participants to stick with the language that came naturally.

A Season is simply our term for a set of OMGYES content that’s sold as a unit. If you ‘buy OMGYES,’ you’re buying one or more Seasons of OMGYES. Each has a different theme, with some surprise topics included. These additional topics are about powerful a-ha moments that really changed things for women we spoke to.

Season 1 contains 12 topics and 62 short videos exploring different aspects of external/ clitoral stimulation, and also dives into subjects like how much thinking can get in the way of (or enhance) pleasure. It has pioneering touchable videos, which allow you to practice techniques on virtual vulvas, guided by voice feedback from our participants. This is our debut effort that launched OMGYES. It’s gotten a lot of praise and attention, and we hope you love it as much as we do!

Season 2 contains 13 Topics and 82 short videos organized around the theme of penetration. It’s been a long time in the making, and we’re very excited to share it! You’ll find new science on everything from ingenious ways to stimulate the clit during penetration, to specific ways to play just inside the entrance of the vagina, to the real, honest ins and outs (ha!) of anal pleasure. Topics that may surprise you, like how women use their breath, or their muscles, to enhance pleasure and orgasm. New in Season 2 are animations that let you to see what’s going on inside the vagina in different techniques.

Season 1 includes 11 touchable videos, which allow users to practice techniques they’ve just learned on a touchscreen or computer. Each of the women in Season 1 collaborated with our engineers to create a coded model of her preferences, reactions, and sensitivities. As you touch her simulation, you get the kinds of feedback she’d give, in her voice.

The simulations are a way of modeling different ways women actually give feedback to guide their partners to what feels best for them. This turns out to be the most important 'technique' of all when it comes to women's pleasure - guiding, suggesting, experimenting, listening and responding in real-time. (It's also a part of sex completely missing from sex scenes in TV/movies/porn!)

Because the simulations are so graphically intense (ha), they may not run on some older devices. Check to see if your device is compatible here.
